Sunset Gradient Nail Art with Sticks 'n' Stones glitter & Hex jewelry charm and video tutorial!

Hello lovelies,

I haven't done a gradient for a while so here's one :) I have used the new Zoya Stunning polishes Yana, Thandie and Darcy and it kinda came out as a 'Sunset' gradient. I wanted to make it special so I've added Ninja Polish Sticks 'n' Stones. It would have ended there but then I thought that the nails really lack something special, an accent nail. So I've removed the nail polish from ring finger, done a two tone gradient with Yana and Thandie and added Hex Jewelry charm.

Well, ehm... the charm says "Fuck you!" and I really wanted to use it! :D  A while ago I've been lucky and I've won Hex Jewelry's Twitter competition for a set of these swear word nail charms. They fit the nail curve great, I'm co happy they are not flat!

Zoya Stunning Collection for Summer 2013 - Review and swatches

*PR sample

Hello lovelies,

Today I'll show you the second part of the Zoya collection for Summer - Stunning. If you've missed the review of the first half of the collection. Irresistible, you can read it here.

Stunning collection consists of six creme polishes in mostly basic colours.

Lucy's Stash - Zoya Stunning Collection for Summer 2013

Darcy - warm yellow with very subtle silver shimmer. Wow, I need sunglasses for this one! The colour is super bright and glossy. The application was a bit tricky (I don't know why but yellows usually are). I needed to apply thick coats otherwise the first coat was a bit patchy. Two coats were enough for full coverage.

Thandie - orange creme with very subtle silver shimmer. Pretty but not very original orange shade, might look very nice on toes :) It applied easily and two coats provided full coverage.

Micky - medium pink creme with very subtle silver shimmer. It's a very pretty and girly shade for summer with a hint of coral undertones. The formula was a bit sheerer so I needed to apply thicker coats. Also when I was applying it it was a bit patchy so for this reason I've used the thicker coats as well.

Yana - bright raspberry creme with very subtle silver shimmer. This is so gorgeous shade which my camera just didn't want to picture right! The shade is rich and glossy and it's a great raspberry colour. It applied well and two coats were enough for full coverage.

Rocky - medium blue creme. All I can think of is a clear blue summer sky, such a gorgeous colour. I'm wearing two thicker coats as the polish seemed to be little bit sheerer to me. It applied well and dried glossy.

Josie - pea green creme. Grass or peas, both match perfectly this green creme shade. If you're one of the green-shade lovers, you probably won't want to miss it.Two coats provide full coverage and the formula was nice and easy to apply.

This collection offers classic creme shades with a hint of shimmer. They all have good formulas but can be a bit patchy if you're using thin coats. All shades were opaque in two coats and dried fast. I've applied topcoat over all swatches.

Fashion Stripe Nail Art with Zoya Summer PixieDust polishes

Hello lovelies,

Quick first post of today (hopefully I'll post another one later). I've tried to do a gradient with Zoya Summer PixieDust polishes... I wasn't entirely happy with the gradient by itself so I've added a bold black stripe on the nail.

The shades I've used: Zoya Solange, Beatrix, Destiny, Miranda and Dahlia.

This is how the gradient looked without the stripe, kinda bland if you ask me..

Clinique introduces A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skin! Swatches of 70º and sunny, Grape Ice, Red Red Red and Happy ♥

*PR sample
Hello lovelies,

hope you're all well! Today I want to show you some more pretty Clinique polishes. Nail polish is range is new to Clinique so I'm sure you'll be curious as to what the colours and formulas are.

"A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins is formulated to minimise skin sensitivity. It is dermatologist tested, ophthalmologist tested and appropriate for sensitive skins and sensitive eyes.

The formula is beautifully balanced to maintain a high shine and streak free application. It is quick drying and available in a wide colour variety, including a few of Clinique’s iconic hues and seasonal, trend setting shades."

Red Red Red - tomato red colour with semi-jelly formula. The colour reminds me of Illamasqua Ruthless a lot except it's a bit darker and it has better pigmentation. I'm wearing two coats which were fully opaque. It applied very easily, dried fast and glossy. I have worn it for five days straight and had absolutely no chipping! I was very impressed with that.

Grape Ice - light purple half-jelly. What a pretty and unusual purple! The formula of this polish was nice and easy to apply. It is well-pigmented for jelly-like finish and I needed just two thicker coats for full coverage. The drying time was average without fast-drying topcoat.

70º and sunny - bright yellow creme. This is a perfect yellow for Summer, very happy and fun! The application was a bit tricky with this one because it dried quite fast. I've had to use thicker coats otherwise polish was prone to patching. Two thicker coats were fully opaque and dried nicely smooth. I've applied topcoat.

Happy ♥ - red/coral creme shade. It applied well but the first coat showed all imperfection on the nail. The second coat followed by topcoat smoothed the surfaced perfectly. The drying time was good and polish levelled itself very nicely in the second coat.

Beauty and the Beach 2 contest - My Make-up, hair and nail looks!

Hello lovelies,

this post is my entry to the Beauty and the Beach 2 contest by Travel Supermarket. This contest is running for second year so I've decided to enter. I usually don't show my face, I'm a bit insecure about it (and very pale atm, British weather sucks :D) but I thought I'll give it a shot.

The task was to create perfect holiday hair, nails and make-up. I took it a bit further and done the makeup and nails both inspired by a bathing suit I used to own years ago. It was yellow with black 'indian summer' pattern.

First up is HAIR: I chose to do a simple twisted braid which will work on medium or long hair.

Step 1: Comb your hair to the side and secure it with an elastic band below your ear
Step 2: Divide your hair into two strands
Step 3: Start twisting first strand of hair, then pin it to your top so it doesn't undo itself
Step 4: Twist the second strand of hair
Step 5: Take both twisted strands and twist them together, then secure with an elastic band

The braid will un-twist a little bit gaining a volume. Why I chose this hairdo? Because it's very easy to do, makes my long hair manageable and if you get it wet and then dry again it will leave your hair nicely curled...

....yes, just like that!

Next up is a MAKE-UP which I matched to my nails. I wanted something very light but also fun. I've matched gold eyeliner with the sunny yellow nails but the rest of the face is not heavy on the makeup at all.

Foundation: I have used Erno Laszlo Tinted foundation with SPF 15 for my whole face. It's my go-to product in the summer as it's very light and contains pearlescent particles that brighten the skin.

Blush: T. LeClerc multi-usage powder in Aurore - it is a mixture of bronzing powder and pink blush with shimmery particles in it. It was a limited summer edition few years back so I don't think it will be available any more.

Eyeliners: I have used Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Solstice (gold) and Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Black. If you'll plan on swimming choose waterproof eyeliner .

Mascara: Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara in Black.

Lips: Labello SUN with SPF protection

And my favourite part, NAILS! You can see a big improvement in the pictures there :D As said before, these were inspired by a bathing suit I used to own and in which I have spent a wonderful summer. The bathing suit had exactly this pattern with unusual spiral depiction of sun.

I have used Clinique 70º and Sunny in a bright yellow. The black nail art patterns have been drawn on with Rio Beauty nail art pen and all sealed with Seche Vite topcoat.

So that's it, and that was me. Hope you'll have your fingers crossed for me and stay tuned for tomorrow's nails only post ;)
