As you know, I'm participating in The Deadly Sins Challenge and this week's sin is Wrath. I've chosen to do something, that I know almost always ends up in failure - stamping! Yeah, I know, unbelievable! I can do other nail art but I just can't do perfect stamping. It's always wonky, distorted or incomplete. I realise that part of the problem is not much practice but my nails are also too long and too curved for stamping :-/
Anyway this is a manicure I'm not happy about but it's a part of the challenge to show you even failed manicures. I've used OPI Casino Royale as a base and White Konad Special polish. The stamping plates were from Bundle Monster.
Omg looks so beautiful, loved it very very much!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteThese are gorgeous. Love the OPI purple shade x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny xoxox
DeleteWow! It's still ridiculously perfect compared to mine! I literally spent 2 hours practicing today and I dunno WHAT is the deal, but my stamps just don't like being pretty :-/
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! It always comes out ruined in some way! maybe we press too much on the stamp or it's our nails, who knows :(
DeleteEven if you don't like it, I just find it gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you hun, you're too kind x
DeleteYou seem to have extremely high expectations to yourself, because I just see perfection. It's stunning, as always!
ReplyDeleteI do actually, I'm perfectionist when it comes to my work and I must admit it's been worse since so many other talented nail artists/bloggers started to publish their work. I love their work, love to look at it, I just want to be good as well :)
DeleteYou're not just good, you're awesome!
DeleteI don't understand how this manicure could be failed. I think it's really cool and your stamps look great. Besides I don't think everything should always look completely perfect. Perfection can be boring.
ReplyDeleteBut I myself find stamping tricky too. I've really long and curved nails like you so sometimes even xl-images are too small for my nails. But I'm sure I'll learn it with some more practice. Your stamps already look great.
It's just all wonky :D :D Yeah, my nails are stupid for stamps and it just makes it really hard :-/
DeleteHow are you not happy with this?! It looks AWESOME!!! If this was my 'failed' manicure I would be delighted! ;P
ReplyDeleteIt's wonky! :D And I'm very critical when it comes to my own work. Thank you very much for the lovely and uplifting comment :)
DeleteGorgeous stamping! I've never wanted to use those BM stamps until I saw them on your nails!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cheryl x
DeleteI don't know what you're saying, your stamping is wonderful on this one! I see no flaws. Very pretty :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much even though I see many wonky places :D
DeleteI am breathless... it is really beautiful. Maybe a little little imperfection on pinkie but it is just the proof that this is a stamping and not a sticker! :-)
ReplyDeleteYeah, that pinkie drives me crazy! Thank you for the comment x
DeleteI think this is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Maria, I still need to practice a lot :)
DeleteLooks great! I have the same issues with stamping you do, but I've never had one come out looking this nice, haha.
ReplyDeleteThank you Cathy. have you watched some video tutorials? Maybe there's a different technique you might want to try?
DeleteI also haven't got the hang of stamping (yet) but yours looks absolutely flaweless! Such a neat mani, not to say absolutely beautiful it's almost a sin to attach it to wrath! haha :D
ReplyDeleteLove it! **
I think it looks great, but i know what you mean....i`m almost never totaly satisfied with my stamping skills too :)
ReplyDeleteBeutifull I love it
ReplyDeleteThe colour is gorgeous and the stamping is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Great with white over that color.
ReplyDeleteWow, love this!!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great! Yes, the pinky is slightly crooked, but the images are transferred perfect!
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely amazing. Never seen anything like it! I wish I had that manicure.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! That lace part is awesome :)
ReplyDeletethis looks amazing!!:)
ReplyDeleteppft, this stamping is lovely! I especially like the paisley pattern. But I know what you mean about stamping being hard on long nails with a high c-curve; mine are like that and sometimes stamping doesn't work for me.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful, Lucy. You made it work for your length! This is NO fail, my dear. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely.
Love the lace band at the bottoms! And the contrast of the white and dark purple is sweet!
ReplyDeleteHow is this a fail? O_o it looks great! On the small finger you could maybe touch up the edge of the design with white acrylic paint and a small brush. I've done that before with stamping fails. My nails aren't quite as long as yours but are fairly long and curved also. I find it helpful to go very slowly when stamping the design on, rolling it carefully from one edge to another. It means I can't use images with very fine details--the polish dries before I can properly transfer it--but it does mean I can get better placement. Then fix up any meh spots with a brush.
ReplyDeleteAlso helps to remember that from a normal viewing distance, and to the average untrained eye, it will look awesome and perfect :D
Aaaan what part are you unhappy about? Because this looks pretty darn stunning to me!
ReplyDeleteI always feel the same about my stamping attempts!
ReplyDeleteVerrry vampy and sexy color on you. Love the nail art.
ReplyDeleteI wish my mani 'fails' were this pretty.
