Review of the first ever She Said Beauty box

Hello lovelies!

The first ever She Said Beauty box arrived!!! I am not disappointed :) This March box is currently sold out so if you'll decide to subscribe, you'll get the April box. The box cost £11.95 per month (incl. postage) and if you'll refer your friends who will subscribe via your referral link, you can earn free boxes. Also if you'll subscribe now, you'll get introductory 25% discount! Please use my referral link: https://www.shesaidbeauty.com/invite/FACGF

So let's have a look at the box: the outside carboard box is in fuchsia pink colour, basically the same like with Glossybox except the colour of course.

After opening the box, lovely turquoise coloured box showed up :) i like the colour but it doesn't go with my other stuff so i won't be using this one for storage.

Lovely packed, the ribbon and sticker has become pretty much standard for beauty boxes. But still a very nice touch to it.

Woohoo! That's my box! It's a very nice for the first box and it includes good mix of products from makeup, nails to skincare and hair care. And a lovely tea on the top!

AVEDA smooth infusion trio - 3-piece pack contains Shampoo, conditioner and Style-Prep Smoother to ensure you get that salon feel at home.

Orly mini nail polish in Black out & nail file - I'm very happy about getting another Orly mini and I'm also happy to get black colour. I haven't tried it yet but is it will be well pigmented, I can use it for nail art and stamping :) Nail file is also very handy. It a bit too rough but it will be good when I will want to file down longer nail. On the card it says that full size costs £5 and it's 5.4ml - that is not true. Miniature has 5.3ml and full size has 18ml.

Comfort Zone Good Night Kit - Give your skin a good night with Comfort Zone Renight Recover Cream, the latest antioxidant with vitamin infusions for the skin. I won't be using this product as I already have my night skincare so no review here. Samples have 6ml (Renight recover Cream) & 4ml (Renight Recover Complex). £52.95 for 50ml cream

We Are Faux Eyelashes - these eyelashes are supposed to be handmade from high quality synthetic fibre. Mine are really beautiful thick lashes. They look like they are really good quality and they retail for £9.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff lip colour - Enriched with a hyper-moisturising, vitamin-rich formula, the creamy colour hugs lips to give your pout the perfect powdery finish. This is not really a product that I would expect in a beauty box just because it is quite cheap-ish drugstore product. I'm pretty sure there will be lots of rants about this but overall it's nice product. The colour is not for me, I got Fairy Cake 3, but I swatched it on my hand ad it was extremely pigmented and creamy. RRP £2.99

Jing Flowering Dragon Eye Tea - A light and fragrant green tea wrapped around a pot marigold in the base, an arch of pure jasmine blossoms and globe amaranth flower which blossoms above when infused. I am very excited about this bonus item! I love tea and I always wanted to try something like this! I just have to get some glass jug to see the flower blossom and possibly take pictures :) RRP £9, you can use 15% off code 20111606 at http://jingtea.com/tea/type/flowering/dragon-eye

I like the box despite some items that I won't use and I will definitely stay subscribed. Don't forget to fill in the beauty profile so they can (hopefully) tailor the box according to your needs.

Once again, if you'd like to subscribe, now is the right time as 25% discount still applies. Please use my referral link: http://www.shesaidbeauty.com/FACGF

    1. Hi Kia, they currently ship only within UK but they say they plan to ship outside UK in the future. x

  2. They're sending different things to different people, then - I missed out on the lashes but got a face balm; no volue listed but I think about 5-10ml so worth about £1.80-£3.60 based on the full size price. Also, my nail varnish is pastel green (I think I will swap this with someone as not a fan of green).

That Comfort Zone Renight Recover Complex I have found listed at £49.95 for six of the 4ml vials, though it seems to be discontinued.

Pleased with the Aveda samples, the Orly (even though not my colour) and will try the Comfort Zone products. Not so pleased with the Collection 2000 purely because this is the sort of product I would "buy to try" (and have done several times as it's stocked locally) as it's so cheap. I like the idea of Beauty Boxes giving an idea of higher-end products so that I can try things I wouldn't normally want to take a punt on. I don't feel the need to get a full-size sample in every box, but I would instead like to get more high-end samples - these boxes started out as "sample services" after all.

    1. Nice review :) I might have been more pleased with the balm instead of lashes or lip colour but that's how it is..

    1. Haha, no, 3 are fine :) I currently subscribe to Amarya, Glossybox, Carmine & She Said and was subscribed to FeelUnique (before they cancelled it) and Boudoir Prive :)

you're absolutely fine hun :D If you can afford it, then why the hell not? xx

  4. Hi Lucy, thanks for your review, personally I am not impressed, for a much hyped and long anticipated first box I am disappointed, and I will probably cancel (I might give it 1 more month and then decide).

The night cream samples are tiny. Most of the beauty box companies give you "deluxe" size samples but it doesn't seem to be the case with this company. Further to the comment above, if its discontinued then that is even worse!?

I also think its sneaky writing the polish is full size (on the card) when it is clearly not!

Re the hair samples, Aveda regularly give these away free (no purchase nec) at their counters and salons, just ask them - so again not impressed...

Finally I am almost speechless at getting Collection 2000 - what on earth were they thinking!??

Okay, over and out from me - rant over!!!!

    1. Good rant :D I think it is a fair box. nice mix and value. but I can imagine that everybody expected awesome high-value box..but beauty boxes aren't about that...

  5. What's with Collection 2000 - it's like I'm 15 again and I got a horrid brown/beigey colour!

  6. Don't worry about receiving the lashes instead of the balm - it's the most average balm I've ever tried. Doesn't seem to moisturise so much as "shield", so might be ok if you're going out in the wind etc.

Not going to lie in that I would have liked bigger Aveda samples (although I'm pleased to have received the products) - my hair is waist length and thick (my fault, rather than She Said Beauty's!) so to get an idea of whether a product works well I generally need a good size sample.

PS - should have said before that I am loving your blog (especially the nail art - I have neither the patience or the skill to accomplish such lovely designs!).

I think the "full size" with the Orly polish comes from the fact that these are included in the "Manicure Miniature" selections and are therefore sold in this size on the open market (ie, it's not a "sample" size). I did note that TK Maxx had sets of a pair of these sizes at the weekend for (I think) £6 the pair.

  7. I'm pretty disappointed with this box - samples are so tiny and I was also confused about the fact that they included collection 2000 - I wasn't expecting to find a drugstore brand in my 'luxury' beauty box. (I must say, however, that it is a lovely lip product)

This box has definitely not met my expectations. Very weak competition to the boxes already on the market.

  10. I'm glad I didn't get swept along with the buzz on Beauty Box Swaps for this box, it really doesn't appeal to me.

  11. i thought the box was alright, considering it's their first box and are trying to lure customers in (glossyboox's first box had a fullsize nars orgasm illuminator, etc) i was expecting a lot more. i also got the collection 2000 cream puff, which i already own in another colour, but i got a dark nude shade i havent even opened and will never use would have much rather got the same shade as you! and my orly polish was black aswell, wish i got a different colour (the green for example) i mean if you already have a black in your collection you don't need more!

  12. This is actually one of the most appealing boxes I've seen. Blimmin' love getting fancy tea. Might check this out - thanks for the review Lucy. xx

    1. THANK YOU! I'm kind of getting tired of people complaining about boxes all the time! Yes, they can't please everybody, but complain about £28 worth of stuff for £8 (there is the 25% off)? I liked it and even when I'll be using only Orly stuff and the tea, I'm happy (it's still my money back). I think people got reeeeally spoiled and are looking for bargains and full-sized items... *rant over*
