Splatter manicure with Zoya Sam, Moxie, Brie and Kennedy

Hello lovelies :)

I've reviewed Zoya Sam in the previous post and today I'll show you how I did  a splatter over it. I've used two coats of Zoya Sam as a base colour and then I used Zoya Moxie, Brie and Kennedy on the top. All sealed with Seche Vite Topcoat.

I had a little trouble with actually splattering the polish. I think it was because I've used quite wide straw from McDonald's...any thoughts on this? Next time I have to buy regular ones if it'll make a difference.

    1. Hi Leanne, definitely try it, it's super easy and if you'll have good straws, there shouldn't be a problem. I'm visiting tesco tonight where I'll hunt for new straws so I will update this post wether the thinner straws make difference :)

  4. I've never tried splattering so no clue about the straw question--I do know I like the end result you got!

P.S. Any chance you'd consider turning off word verification for comments? It vexes me so that I'm not sure if I'll get this comment through at all.

    1. Hi karen, I've read your post about turning off the word verification but I don't have the option in my settings. I'll keep researching it, I had no idea I had word verification on.

  7. Thanks, Lucy! As far as I know, you have to be in (or temporarily switch to) the old Blogger interface to be able to see the option to turn it off. Maybe that's why you're not seeing it?

  9. I love it! I think it actually looks less like paint splatter and more like you dripped the beige into a darker liquid and it spread like that. I'm not sure if I explained it clearly at all ... like if you drop food coloring into water. :)

  13. There are several things you can do to adjust how the polish splatters. First, you can try different sizes of straw, from big bubble tea straws to the tiny coffee stirrers. Then, you can thin down your polish so that it flows a bit easier. Put it in a small container and add some polish thinner (or polish remover, I bet it would work fine too) and stir it up.

It's just a trial and error process to see what works for each individual polish. But this came out absolutely gorgeous!!

    1. Hi Laynie, thank you very much for your tips! I've tried thinner straw which helped a lot and I'll try to thin down the polish as well. <3

    1. Thank you very much Stacy! If you search splatter manicure on Youtube or Google you should find some tutorials. It' basically dipping pieces of straw (for drinking drinks) into polish and then blow the straw over nails ;)
