Foil Graffiti and tape manicure with tutorial

Hello lovelies,

so yesterday I've shown you the 'graffiti' style foil nails and I've promised you a tutorial. Today is the second part of the whole mani where I've used tape and craft scissors to enhance the 'industrial' look. I've also created tutorial for this look so if you want to create just the graffiti style nails follow steps 1-5.

So here is the complete look:

  4. These are great! How does the foil work? Does it just come off on the nail where the glue is? I have tried doing the craft scissors before also but have found that they don't cut the tape....I guess you have to use masking tape :) Thanks so much!!

    1. Thank you :) Yes, the foil sticks to the place where the glue is so you can also create patterns etc. I have to use paper masking tape for craft scissors as they don't cut the normal tape properly :-/

I have loads of those craft scissors knocking about, never even thought to use them for tape manis before, definitely going to give it a try now. I'll be sure to link back to you when I do.

    1. Thank you :) Hope you'll share your tape manis ;) Don't forget to use masking tape rather than plastic tape as craft scissors don't cut plastic tape properly ;)

    1. Hi Jen, I use The Best Glue Ever and Mylar foil. Both bought on Ebay. They are available in stores in US but I'm in UK so had to use Ebay :)

One more thing - could you please not use links in your comment? It is not a good practice and I will be deleting comments with links in the future and really don't want to delete yours too. Thank you very much! x

  14. Hi,
Do you have the brand name for the paper tape that you use? I've bought "paper masking tape", but it doesn't look nearly as papery as yours or as transparent. The tape you use looks a lot like medical tape actually.
My craft scissors are still not cutting my tape properly! AAAHHH

    1. Hi, I really have no idea what brand the tape is, I got is ages ago from mum. Sometime other bloggers use blue paper masking tape and it looks like it works as well. I'm sorry I can't help you any more than this.
