China Glaze Prismatic Collection: Optical Illusion - Review and swatches

Hi girls!

I'm so excited to show new China Glaze Prismatic polishes! I haven't swatched all of them yet but here is a taster :) I have five out of six colours I bought at the beauty exhibition. I had no idea it is upcoming collection...for some reason I thought it's a year old collection :) Never mind! This collection will be officially available from April.

Something about Prismatic collection: Array your nails in a myriad of color this spring with China Glaze®’s limited edition Prismatic nail polish collection! Inspired by the colors formed by the refraction of light through a prism, Prismatic by China Glaze® combines glitterand holographic particles to create the ultimate eye-catching, 3-dimensional manicure.

Optical Illusion - described as Aqua green glimmers with a hint of purple filled with pink, yellow, silver, orange and green flecks. This glitter is really beautiful, aqua colour based but with tons of other coloured glitter. It applied easily despite it being a glitter but it dried quite slow and a bit gritty. I would expect it to be clumpy with co much glitter in it but it is not at all. Two coats were enough for the coverage, there's plenty of glitter in the polish. I had to use a topcoat (Seche Vite) to make it smooth and shiny and it was worth it!

These are all excellent glitters and I can't wait to show you the rest! Most of them are a bit duochrome(!) on the top of multicoloured glitter!

  5. This was my favorite out of the collection. My swatches didn't turn out as good as yours. I didn't like them that much, and I adore anything glittery. I may have to go back and try them again ...

  7. No to je nádhera, úplně oči přecházejí!:-) A jestli jsem to tedy pochopila dobře, tak kryje dobře, ale pořád jsou to třpytky, takže odlakování asi nic moc, že..?

  8. Love this one - want all but one of the collection - and this was supposed to be my month to start getting on track budget wise again and no more sprees on polish until I figure out how to host a sale since I don't have a blog. 1500 polishes + is too much to store! I have polishes that are super collectable black labels reaching all the way back to the start of OPI as a company! And that's what has survived previous purges before I discovered blogs and knew there were others out there like me who would LOVE to have some of the lovelies in my stash to help me make room for more! just how to do that without a blog? I don't have time to set it up (techie skills lacking a bit)...and then to get a following and all the time to shoot when I don't have a decent camera. I cannot even get my stuff sold on eBay I want to sell or stuff donated and just out of here! Help!!! I am drowning in stuff!

    1. It is a bit hard without blog and if you don't want Ebay-you can find a beauty community/discussion forum with sale section or www.makeupalley.com, there's huge audience!

  9. Oh and cannot wait to see the rest of your swatches. Does this glitter eat the topper? Do you need to use Gelous before your SV? How many coats till you get to this level of opacity?

    1. I've used two coats of polish and one coat of seche and it was fine. I always use thicker coat of seche over glitter so it doesn't sink to the glitter.
